JOB OPENING

TRADEMARK MANAGER

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), an international non-profit forest-management standards and accreditation organization, seeks a dynamic, capable, experienced Trademark Manager. Based in the organization's headquarters in Oaxaca, Mexico, the trademark manager will be responsible for the proper utilisation of FSC logo and trademark, by authorising and monitoring its use. He/she will also be responsible in co-ordination with senior management to develop a self-sufficiency program with the generation of trademark royalties. He/She will supervise Trademark Officer(s) and other staff as required.

Qualifications

• The position requires a professional with a degree of an accredited university in Business Administration, Commerce or related field. A master's degree in a relevant field is highly desired.
• At least eight years of experience working either in the private sector or an international organization in trademark issues, preferably in the forestry sector or the wood industry.
• Solid knowledge of the forestry sector or industry
• Trademark management experience
• Exceptional capabilities in oral, written and personal communication
• Ability to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment
• Bilingual Spanish/English the two official languages of FSC
• Knowledge of the FSC certification system highly desired

Responsibilities

• Development of terms of reference and contracts for FSC nominated agents
• Review and improve policy documents and procedures related to FSC trademarks
• Identification and programming of training needs associated with control of FSC trademarks
• Preparation of the annual operating plan and budget related to the area or responsibility .
• Development of educational and promotional material about FSC trademarks use
• Establishment and maintenance of contacts and relations with forest products companies
• Monitoring certification activities related to the use of the trademarks and ensuring that information related to certified forests and chain of custody is updated
• Evaluation of requests and recommendation for approval of FSC trademarks use
• Ensure the regular supply of trademark information to authorized users

• The position is located in the FSC secretariat, in Oaxaca, Mexico.
